New Match Announced For Tonight’s SmackDown

Chad Gable said Penta’s show of respect after SummerSlam 2026 was not planned.
Speaking on the Complex Graps podcast, Gable reflected on defeating Penta to win the Intercontinental Championship and praised him both personally and professionally. He said the post-match moment, where Penta put the title on him, was never discussed beforehand.
Gable said he considers Penta one of his favorite opponents and spoke highly of him outside the ring as well.
“One of my favorite not only luchadors and wrestlers and guys to be in the ring with, but just human beings. Like, one of the most effortlessly cool human beings you will ever meet, man. He doesn’t even have to try. He’s just so cool.”
He said the title handoff stood out because it came naturally after the match and carried real meaning.
“And none of that was talked about. None of that was discussed. It was just like, ‘No, this is yours now.’ And I was like, tears in my eyes from him doing that because that’s, you know, that’s like the ultimate sign of respect that he just didn’t have to do.”
Gable added that he saw the gesture as a sign of class and respect from Penta.

Tonight&#8217;s episode of TNA iMPACT took place at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. Below are the results:
&#8211; A brawl broke out between TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced a &#8220;no touch&#8221; clause between Nemeth and Slater until their Bound For Glory match. If Nemeth breaks the clause, he will be stripped of the title. If Slater breaks the clause, he will lose his title match.
&#8211; TNA Director of Operations Daria Rae (fka Sonya Deville in WWE) slapped Indi Hartwell. Santino Marella filmed this whole incident.
