Speaking on the Netflix special &#8220;Hot Ones: Extra Heat,&#8221; Punk explained that the injury damaged the inner ear bones responsible for equilibrium, comparing the sensation to &#8220;dice inside a cup&#8221; being rattled around. The lingering effects mean that sudden movements, such as lying down and looking straight up, can cause the room to spin.
According to Punk, this condition has periodically flared up during his matches, leading to situations where he has had to perform while experiencing full-blown disorientation.
He previously noted that the 2002 incident was the most severe injury of his career and that he could have died from the trauma.

A 64-year-old man from Pennsylvania lost $42,700 in a scam involving someone impersonating WWE star Rhea Ripley.
According to Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning, the incident took place in March 2026. An unknown person or persons posed as Ripley and convinced the victim to send the money through online payments.
The victim has refused to cooperate with the investigation, and no arrests have been made.
Similar impersonation scams targeting elderly fans have occurred before, including a previous case involving an Alexa Bliss impersonator.

Former WWE/AEW star Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) suffered a doctor-stoppage loss at Power Slap 23 on September 17 in Lubbock, Texas.
Hager faced Johnny Magna in a heavyweight bout. After taking a slap that struck him in the eye, he began bleeding heavily from the eye area. The ringside doctor stopped the fight, awarding the victory to Magna by TKO.

2 Cold Scorpio aka Charles Scaggs has been locked up in Kansas City after a judge revoked his bond during a court appearance on September 17, 2026.
The trouble started after prosecutors stepped in last week, pointing out that Scaggs broke the rules of his release by flashing a gun, an action Scaggs admitted to in court, leading the judge to rule that he had clearly broken his bond conditions and posed a danger to the public.
The ECW/WWF/WCW veteran had previously struck a plea deal on charges of second-degree assault and armed criminal action, with his official sentencing now set for October 9.
The legal nightmare began in June 2024 while Scaggs was working security at a Love’s Travel Stop. An argument over an unlit or partially lit cigarette around 3:40 AM quickly turned into a physical fight outside, where Scaggs pulled a knife and stabbed the man multiple times, later claiming he acted purely in self-defense while the victim claimed Scaggs was the aggressor.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds across his body, and Scaggs was arrested right at the scene. ECW names like The Sandman, Tod Gordon, and Bill Alfonso helped raise defense money for him.

Serrano stated that despite regularly sharing photos with her husband, fans still question her personal life. &#8220;Look, I love my gays. All right. I love you all. I am straight, though. Rey previously noted that his daughter has taken to the training quickly, stating that she picks things up very fast. Unlike Dominik, who grew up immersed in the wrestling business and featured in major storylines, Aalyah finished school before deciding to pursue an in-ring career. Rey has previously emphasized that while the family name may open doors, she must earn her spot through her own hard work.

Aalyah Gutierrez Officially Joins WWE Performance Center

Armando Montalvo has filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against WWE, the Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, and multiple other defendants. The legal action stems from the August 31, 2015 incident where Montalvo was shot outside the WWE Performance Center in Orlando after arriving at the facility.
Montalvo&#8217;s complaint alleges a conspiracy involving excessive force, false arrests, and efforts to keep him incapacitated following the shooting. He claims he was unarmed and intoxicated at the time, and alleges that a weapon was planted at the scene to justify the use of force by deputies.
The lawsuit also targets Aspire Health Partners, accusing the mental-health provider of using Florida’s Baker Act and psychotropic medication to keep him subdued and unable to pursue criminal appeals. Additionally, the complaint brings in Walmart over a separate 2020 trespassing incident where charges were eventually dropped.
Montalvo has a lengthy history with WWE dating back to his repeated appearances outside the Performance Center demanding a wrestling job, which previously led to restraining orders and multiple arrests. In the new federal lawsuit, he is seeking compensatory and punitive damages as he attempts to take the matter before a jury.
