Persephone is currently signed to both CMLL and AEW, but WWE is reportedly interested in pursuing her once she is legally able to negotiate. The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE is expected to make her an offer at that point.
The report also noted that WWE has not heavily targeted CMLL talent so far aside from signing La Catalina. That approach could change if WWE lands a United States television deal for AAA, brings in more sponsorship revenue, and increases its budget for talent from Mexico.
Bryan Alvarez added that Persephone did not turn down WWE in favor of AEW because WWE never made an offer while she was under contract.
“I am told Persephone did not pick AEW over WWE because she never actually got a WWE offer. She has been under CMLL contract and hasn’t been able to talk with WWE at all. Like a lot of others, she took the opportunity to add the AEW contract to the CMLL one.”

WWF veteran Slick is currently in the ICU following a heart attack and emergency open-heart surgery, according to Book Pro Wrestlers.
Fortunately, the former manager made it to the hospital in time, successfully made it through the operation, and is now on the road to recovery.
Andrew Anderson shared the health update after hearing directly from Mary Alice Gray, the wife of One Man Gang, who spoke with Slick in the hospital.
While his healing process is moving along slowly, friends and family are grateful that &#8220;The Doctor of Style&#8221; is stable and resting as he works his way back to good health.

New Matches & Segment Announced For Tomorrow’s RAW

CM Punk returned to NXT action for the first time since 2012 at an NXT live event on August 15.
Punk teamed with NXT Tag Team Champions Myles Borne and Tavion Heights against The Vanity Project’s Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes. Before the match, Punk confronted Vanity Project enforcer Myka Lockwood and the two had a brief flex-off.
During the match, Lockwood powerbombed the Undisputed WWE Champion. Despite that moment, Punk, Borne and Heights went on to win.

At last night&#8217;s Lucha Libre AAA TV taping, Omos tried to chokeslam AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio.
AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio came out and encouraged his El Ojo member to do it, but Omos put Rey down.
Rey then suspended Omos from AAA, which is bad news for Dirty Dom ahead of his Mega Title defense against El Grande Americano at Triplemanía 34 next month.

Rey Mysterio Suspends WWE Star In AAA (Spoiler)

Carmelo Hayes said a move into Hollywood is not part of his current plans.
While speaking on Jones &amp; Keefe, Hayes was asked whether he has any interest in acting. He said he would be open to it if the right opportunity came along, but his main focus remains his wrestling career:
“It’s definitely not on my radar. If it comes to me, I’m not chasing it, but if it attracts me, then it’s something that I would consider. Right now, I want to be the very best that I can be in what I’m doing at this current moment. I’m in it for the long run. It’s a marathon. I want to accomplish as much as I can in this game and see what is next.”
Hayes lost to Baron Corbin in a match for the United States Championship on last week&#8217;s SmackDown.

Karmen Petrovic said she did not expect WWE talent to have as much creative input as they do.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast, the NXT/AAA wrestler said she initially assumed decisions about character presentation, gear and storylines were handled almost entirely by WWE’s creative team. After joining the company, she said she learned talent can shape how they present themselves, including their image on social media, and can also suggest ideas.
“I feel like I thought that the characters, like the gear that the women wear, storylines and stuff like that, I definitely thought that that was something that was so specific to like the creative team and something that you didn’t really have control over, and then coming into the WWE, just understanding like you can present yourself as you want and also like what you wear, like how you come off on social media.
Obviously, some storylines you can’t have full reigns on, but we definitely do have the ability to pitch ideas, come up with things for ourselves, also for other people. So I think just having that kind of freedom is incredible.”
