Former WWE wrestler Donovan Dijak posted the following statement after Steven Borden got injured at AEW All Out:
&#8220;There is a growing trend lately among some segments of the pro wrestling fanbase where people are showing an abhorrent and complete lack of empathy for professional wrestlers getting legitimately injured.
I understand this is a grey area because on the one hand we are literally always presenting you with the story of &#8216;hey watch this jerk get hurt because it’s what they deserve&#8217;. I also understand that this is often further compounded by the fact that we also often present the story of &#8216;they are actually hurt…just kidding they are a faking jerk.&#8217; 
That being said, try to err on the side of caution when appropriate.
That’s a real human being with real emotions trying to process the extent of their injury in real time and how it will impact the people in their lives who rely on them physically and/or financially. Or for another common example, there is a real person in that viral clip that you jokingly commented on, and they might now have to deal with the potential lifelong ramifications of a serious head/neck/body injury.
Do we sign up for this? Yes. Do we understand the risks? Yes. Are some of us financially compensated handsomely for this risk? Some, yes, but not most. None of this changes the fact that anyone who has ever stepped foot in a pro wrestling ring did that with the intent of entertaining you, the people, the fans, and if something legitimately negative happens to us on our journey toward achieving that goal, we don’t want to be mocked or ridiculed for trying our best to bring you joy. This includes another common circumstance in the pro wrestling world, and that’s wrestlers getting fired/released/un-renewed.
Do some wrestlers say or do controversial/polarizing things? Yep. Are some just genuinely bad people who do genuinely bad things? Unfortunately yes. Try your best as an observer to critically identify when this is factually and definitively the case, and then directly address that action or statement as opposed to abstractly determining that the wrestler &#8216;got what they deserved&#8217; which doesn’t facilitate any meaningful change or influence, it just adds on more negativity.
Long story short, enjoy, have fun, have an opinion, voice your opinion, but don’t be a d*ck.&#8221;

NJPW Destruction In Kobe 2026 Results – Konosuke Takeshita Loses His Title

Tony Khan had plenty to say after reports revealed WWE ran its Worlds Collide event at Chicago&#8217;s Allstate Arena specifically to hurt ticket sales for AEW All Out at the nearby NOW Arena, with WWE sources admitting to Fightful Select they were shocked by how strong AEW&#8217;s numbers ended up being.
According to WrestleTix, AEW All Out sold 9,456 tickets, while WWE Worlds Collide sold 13,853 tickets.
Addressing the situation during the All Out post-show media scrum, the AEW President questioned why anyone in Stamford would still be caught off guard by his company packing an arena they have repeatedly sold out in the past:
&#8220;Did WWE actually go on the record and say they were surprised that we did so well? I was just curious about that. We had our own show to do. I was kind of surprised they would say that because we&#8217;ve done very, very well. AEW is having an incredible year, why would they be surprised that we would sell out? We&#8217;ve sold this arena out many times and AEW is having a fantastic year.
I think anybody underestimating AEW would be making a mistake. AEW continues to defy the odds and succeed. If AEW has ever been on the mat, every single time, we&#8217;ve gotten up and fought.
I agree with what Will Ospreay said. He went out and had a great main event with Jon Moxley, and from start to finish, All Out was an amazing event.
I was surprised when I read that WWE sources commented that they were surprised themselves that AEW All Out performed very well. The pay-per-view did great and the show sold very well. I don&#8217;t know why anybody would underestimate AEW. We had a great year in 2025 and this year has been even better.&#8221;

On the All Out post show media scrum, AEW World Champion Will Ospreay had the following to say about WWE running their Worlds Collide event in Chicago on the same night to hurt their PPV:
&#8220;Tonight was super special to me because it was the first time I was on a pay-per-view main event defending the championship, and the entire building was sold out on three matches. It sold out on myself and Jon, Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion, and the ladder match.
I cannot tell you the pride that I feel because people did have a choice. Everyone who came to this show tonight chose the right company. We deliver the best pay-per-views, the best pro wrestling.
Any time anyone wants to come and step up to us, here is the reality for you, we&#8217;re going to knock you down two f**king levels. We are the best pro wrestling in the entire f**king world. Do not f**king step to us ever again.&#8221;

At last night&#8217;s GCW Score event, new TNA wrestler Joseph Sawyer (fka Joe Gacy in WWE) injured his knee and stopped wrestling.
He told the fans that he&#8217;s been done for months now, and left his GCW World Championship in the ring, possibly vacating the title.

Sawyer later issued the following statement:
&#8220;To clear the air.
Yes I did get hurt. No I didn’t finish the match. I tried to get the feeling back in my knee to see if I could and sadly I couldn’t. Luckily it seems like it isn’t anything that will put me out for an extended about of time.
So yes I think I’ll be okay for now.&#8221;
Joseph Sawyer debuted in TNA on the September 24th episode of iMPACT, where he was revealed as the mystery attacker along with Dexter Lumis.

In the main event of All Out, Will Ospreay defeated AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley to retain the AEW World Championship.
During the post show media scrum, Ospreay challenged AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada to face him with the AEW World Title on the line at AEW Grand Slam France on October 6. Okada accepted the challenge.
