Serpentico: Andy was a gentle &amp; kind mountain of a man. He looked like he could throw you through a wall (he could if he wanted!) but was so warmhearted &amp; soft spoken. I would affectionately call him father &amp; we immediately bonded over our love of dogs. He will be forever missed.
Ben Bishop: I was hoping this story was misreported. I only had a few interactions with Andy. But he was always complimentary. We laughed and joked about how silly the wrestling business can be. Maybe it was the WNY accent but I think it was just who he was. Any time we’d end up sitting with each other we would talk about the most incredible range of subjects from playing instruments, foraging for food, wrestling, cosmology, and anything in between. Will Washington: I was at a restaurant after a show one time and met a group of AEW fans. Like usual, I struck up conversation with them to gauge their interest in us and they told me something fascinating: They weren’t big wrestling fans at all. They had discovered it via Andy Williams’s social media. They were actually big E.T.I.D. fans and became obsessed with wrestling after the band broke up. I thought that was so cool. The following week at Dynamite, I told Andy this story and he smiled big. He said it wasn’t the first time he’d heard that but it always surprised him when he did and he never stopped appreciating it. He had that big, mean, scary look that only a wrestler could have, but he was such a gentle, kind soul. Rest easy, Big Butcher.

Professional wrestling legend &#8220;Superstar&#8221; Bill Dundee has passed away. He was 82 years old.
Dundee&#8217;s son, Jamie Dundee, announced that his father passed away at 3:30 AM on September 6, 2026.
Dundee had an extensive career in the wrestling industry, working as an active in-ring competitor from 1967 until 2019. He was best known for his time in the Memphis wrestling territory, where he was inducted into the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Over the decades, Dundee also wrestled for Jim Crockett Promotions, Central States Wrestling, and Florida Championship Wrestling, and worked as a booker in Memphis, Louisiana, and Georgia.
He was also the father-in-law of NWA/WCW Legend Bobby Eaton.

“Superstar” Bill Dundee Passes Away At Age 82

Last night, Independent promotion Enjoy Wrestling had to stop its 5-year anniversary event early after Andy Williams, known in AEW as The Butcher, suffered a sudden and serious medical emergency.
Everything seemed to be going as planned until Williams&#8217; legs gave out near the finish of his match. His tag team partner, The Blade, quickly called for help and tried to get him back on his feet, but Williams went down a second time and lost consciousness. Williams was rushed to the hospital.
TMZ has now confirmed that Andy has passed away at the age of 48.

&#8220;Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening.
Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived.
We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information.
Thanks to everyone who helped and has reached out.&#8221;
Someone started a rumor that Andy has died, but Enjoy Wrestling&#8217;s account said that wasn&#8217;t the case, and told the fan to delete their tweet. Enjoy Wrestling deleted their tweet later as well.
