At last night&#8217;s ROH Death Before Dishonor 2026 PPV, Athena defeated Hazuki to retain the ROH Women&#8217;s World Championship. Both women showed respect to each other after the match.
Athena revealed that she suffered an asthma attack during this match:

Athena Had An Asthma Attack During Her ROH Death Before Dishonor 2026 Match

Legendary WWF/E composer Jim Johnston revealed that while he continues to write potential wrestling themes in his studio, no current WWE stars have reached out to him. Johnston believes WWE management may have instructed its roster not to contact him for entrance music.
Speaking on the All Access Entertainment Podcast, Johnston expressed frustration with the direction of modern wrestling music. He stated that he has already proven what he can accomplish and felt that current WWE entrance themes are lacking, suggesting internal politics are preventing the company from bringing him back.
Johnston noted that while wrestlers from other promotions occasionally contact him about themes, none come from WWE. He claimed that talent in both WWE and AEW regularly lobby management for custom music, even offering to cover the production costs themselves, only to have their requests rejected.
According to Johnston, corporate bureaucracy and ongoing financial success prevent higher-ups from addressing the issue. He suggested that because the companies are making money, leadership is hesitant to change how things are currently run, though he remains willing to create new wrestling music if asked.

David Arquette said he would like to be involved with AEW.
During a Reddit AMA, Arquette was asked which film from his career he would choose to make a sequel to. While discussing a possible follow-up to &#8220;Ready To Rumble,&#8221; he also mentioned his interest in wrestling again and specifically referenced All Elite Wrestling.
Here&#8217;s what the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion said:
“I think if I was to make any sequel it would be READY TO RUMBLE. There is such a huge love of wrestling and that film and there would be so much especially if WWE was involved.
On a side note, I would love to do something on AEW. So many of my friends work there and I have unfinished business with Jeff Jarrett and would love to work with Jack Perry and sadly RJ City, not to mention Dalton Castle!”

David Arquette Wants To Appear In AEW

On last night&#8217;s SmackDown, Baron Corbin refused to give Trick Williams another match for the United States Championship. Lil Yachty attacked Corbin with a kendo stick.
Corbin said Trick can have a title match, but he wants a match against Lil Yachty first. If Yachty can survive 5 minutes with him, then Trick will get a U.S. Title match. Lil Yachty accepted the challenge for Sunday Night&#8217;s Main Event on September 6.
According to the Wrestling Observer, RAW wrestler Ivy Nile and her husband (fitness trainer Ari Levy) have been training Yachty for months.

Update On Who’s Training Lil Yachty For WWE Debut Match

Representatives from TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC, attended last week&#8217;s AEW Dynamite.
Bryan Alvarez noted that TKO officials showed up to the August 12th episode in Las Vegas simply to check out the competition. Alvarez made it clear that the TKO staff bought their own tickets and were definitely not given free entry by All Elite Wrestling.
The show took place in front of 1,846 fans at the Pearl Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort. The top matches on the show were AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley facing Jack Perry, Chris Jericho challenging Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship, and a three-way qualifier between MJF, &#8220;Speedball&#8221; Mike Bailey, and Nick Wayne for the All In Casino Gauntlet match.

TKO Officials Attended AEW Dynamite Last Week

Last night, Blake Monroe&#8217;s SmackDown debut match never started because she attacked Giulia during entrance. Prior to this, Blake told Cathy Kelley that her debut match should&#8217;ve been for the WWE Women&#8217;s Championship.
Giulia tweeted the following about Blake&#8217;s attack: &#8220;Ridiculous&#8221;.
Blake Monroe wrote: &#8220;womp womp&#8221;.
Giulia replied: &#8220;Keep yapping&#8221;.
Blake challenged Giulia: &#8220;do something about it&#8221;.

During tonight&#8217;s ROH Death Before Dishonor post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if he would be interested in bringing former WWE wrestler Ilja Dragunov to All Elite Wrestling.
Here&#8217;s what Khan said:
&#8220;I&#8217;m not sure about the contractual status, but that&#8217;s a tremendous, tremendous professional wrestler, absolutely.
I don&#8217;t know exactly what the contractual status is of people that don&#8217;t work here. I can&#8217;t keep track of those things and there is no way for me to know that, but one thing I do is that is a great wrestler.&#8221;
